Ishaqzaade Rakkautta ja Anarkiaa festivaalilla!

Meitä intialaisen elokuvan ystäviä ei juuri hemmotella tänä vuonna Rakkautta ja Anarkiaa festivaalilla. Valitettavasti tarjolla on vain yksi intialainen elokuva, vaikka parin vuoden sisään Intiassa on tehty toinen toistaan uskomattomampia elokuvahelmiä. Joko festivaalin työntekijöillä ei ole ollut aikaa tutustua Intian elokuva tarjontaan tai he eivät ole saaneet ostetuksi oikeuksia ko. elokuviin. Olin myös hyvin yllättynyt festivaalijohtajan toiveesta saada Don 2 festivaalille. Elokuvastahan oli jo viime vuoden vaihteessa 4 esitystä Helsingissä ja yksi esitys Tampereella.

Ihan vinkiksi R&A sekä Artisokka festivaalin väelle, yrittäkäähän saada seuraavat elokuvat Suomeen: Delhi Belly (2011), The Dirty Picture (2011), Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), Kahaani (2012).

Unfortunately this year there is only one Indian movie at Love & Anarchy film festival. It's a shame, consider how many great movies India has produced during these couple of years. Either the festival staff didn't have time to check out what movies India has produced or they haven't got the movie rights. I was also surprised about the festival leader's wish to have Don 2 to the festival. The movie has already been screened 4 times in Helsinki and one time in Tampere last December/January.

For the people working in Love and Anarchy festival and Artichoke film festival, please try to get these movies to Finland: Delhi Belly (2011), The Dirty Picture (2011), Gangs of Wasseypur (2012), Kahaani (2012).

Tämän vuotinen Ishaqzaade aka Love Rebels kertoo kahden vihollisklaanin, Qureshien ja Chauhanien, vihasta ja taistelusta pohjoisintialaisessa pikkukylässä paikallisvaalien aikaan. Elokuva vaikuttaa modernilta Romeo ja Julia -tarinalta. Elokuvan erikoisina rakastavaisina näyttelevät Parineeta Chopra ja Arjun Kapoor. Katsokaahan traileri:

This year's choice Ishaqzaade aka Love Rebels tells a story of the hatred and battle of two enemy clans, Qureshes and Chauhans, in a small village in Northern India during the elections. The story seems to be modern Romeo and Juliet story. The peculiar lovers are portrayed by Parineeta Chopra and Arjun Kapoor. Check out the trailer above.

Festivaalilla on tarjolla myös Pakistaniin sijoittuva road movie Noor. Elokuvan päähenkilö Noor on Khusra eli hän kuuluu ns. kolmanteen sukupuoleen.

Festival offers also road movie Noor which is set in Pakistan. The main charachter, Noor, is a Khusra which means that he belongs to the transgender community.

Nepaliin sijoittuva lyhytelokuva Walker kertoo päähenkilöstä, joka matkustaa Nepaliin etsimään itseään. Elokuvan on ohjannut Rasmuksesta tuttu Eero Heinonen. Walker on osa Elämän tanssi -lyhytelokuvien sarjaa.

Short movie Walker, set in Nepal, tells a story of a man who travels to Nepal to find himself. The director Eero Heinonen, is known musician from Finnish band called Rasmus. Walker is a part of short movie serie Dance of Life.
