Suomi-Intia seuran suosittu Diwali juhla järjestetään lauantaina 25.10.2014 Tikkurilan lukiossa (Valkoisenlähteentie 53, Vantaa).
Diwali on yksi tärkeimmistä intialaisista juhlista ja aloittaa hindukalenterin mukaan uuden vuoden. Diwalina juhlitaan hyvän voittoa pahasta ja valon pimeydestä, kotiinpaluuta ja uutta alkua. Juhla tuo valoa ja intialaista tunnelmaa myös suomalaiseen talveen.
Suomi-Intia-Seura ry. on ystävyysseura, joka toimii Intiasta ja intialaisesta kulttuurista kiinnostuneiden toiminnallisena yhteisönä sekä yhdyssiteenä Suomessa asuvien intialaisten välillä. Seuran tavoitteena on edistää intialaisen kulttuurin tuntemusta Suomessa sekä kulttuurivaihtoa ja kehitysyhteistyötä Suomen ja Intian välillä. Seura on toiminut vuodesta 1949.
Suomi-Intia-Seura juhlii Diwalia perinteiseen tapaan musiikin, tanssin ja intialaisen ruuan merkeissä sekä tietysti hyvässä seurassa. Juhla on kaikille avoin eli ota perhe ja ystävät mukaasi.
Luvassa on monikulttuurillinen ohjelma, jonka esiintyjät ovat Suomesta, Intiasta ja Indonesiasta. Ohjelma koostuu lasten ja aikuisten bollywood-musiikkiesityksistä ja bhangra-tanssiesityksistä sekä kilpailuista. Yksi juhlan päävieraista on show tanssiryhmä Bolly Beat Dancers. Ja hyvä uutinen kaikille joiden tanssijalka vipattaa, nimittäin ohjelman päätyttyä tanssilattia on kaikille vapaa! Musiikista vastaan Dj A-MAN.

Finnish-Indian Society's popular Diwali celebration will be held on Saturday October 25th, 2014 at Tikkurilan lukio (Valkoisenlähteentie 53, Vantaa).
Diwali or Deepawali is certainly the biggest and the brightest of all Hindu Indian festivals. The time of Diwali is one of the most festive and beautiful times of the year. It is a time filled with light and love; a time when Indians all over the world rejoice. Diwali is marked by five days of celebration, which literally illumines the country and worldwide (where ever Indians are living) with its brilliance, and dazzles all with its joy. It falls during autumn between mid-October and mid-November.
The name "Diwali" is a contraction of Deepavali which translates into "row of lamps". Diwali involves the lighting of small clay lamps filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil. These lamps are kept on during the night and one's house is cleaned, both done in order to make the goddess Lakshmi feel welcome.
The Finnish-Indian-Society is a friendship association that acts as a community of people interested in India and Indian culture. The Society promotes social interaction between Finns and Indians living in Finland. The aim is to promote the knowledge of Indian culture in Finland, and to strengthen cultural exchange and development co-operation between the two countries. The Finnish-Indian-Society was established in 1949.
The Finnish-Indian-Society celebrates Diwali with music, dance and delicious Indian food. It will bring light and Indian atmosphere to the Finnish winter. The celebration is open to all who's interested of Indian culture.
There will be multicultural program full of excellent performances, by artists from Finland, India and Indonesia. Program includes games and performances by budding young artists on Bollywood music, Bhangra dance performances as well as performance from show dance group Bolly Beat Dancers. And good news for anyone who's interested to dance, dance floor is open after the program! DJ A-MAN will be in the house with foot tapping Beats so Remember to wear your Dancing Shoes!
